Blink Nation, a brand-new, screen-reader-friendly social network specially tailored for blind users. We strive to make an environment that is feature rich but clutter free. As you browse this site, you'll probably notice several, major differences from other, less organized webpages you've visited. For instance, you'll notice we've replaced long lists of links with drop down menus and accompanying Go buttons. We've removed annoying images, so that you won't be left in the dark on any useful information or tripping over useless decorations. We've marked distinct sections in the content so that you can quickly navigate between headers. We've reduced the use of tables for clearity's sake. And we make a point to only use dynamic content that plays nicely with your screen reader. Blink Nation is an on-going project to create new features and content for blind users. This site will continue to evolve and grow as our community grows.
If you don't yet have a profile on Blink Nation, register to join our online community for free!

We created ET Speaks, our DoubleTalk-compatible speech. ET Speaks automatically vocalizes embosser commands, works with screen-reading software to make your computer talk, and even plays audio files of all kinds of sounds in the popular WAV format, making Braille embossers easier to use--and more fun--for people with all levels of computer experience. ET Speaks is now standard on BookMaker, Braille Express 100, Braille Express 150, Juliet Pro, Juliet Pro 60 and Romeo Pro 50. It's also an option for our single-sided desktop embosser, Thomas.

The Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section (CCIPS) is responsible for implementing the Department's national strategies in combating computer and intellectual property crimes worldwide. The Computer Crime Initiative is a comprehensive program designed to combat electronic penetrations, data thefts, and cyberattacks on critical information systems. CCIPS prevents, investigates, and prosecutes computer crimes by working with other government agencies, the private sector, academic institutions, and foreign counterparts. Section attorneys work to improve the domestic and international infrastructure-legal, technological, and operational-to pursue network criminals most effectively. The Section's enforcement responsibilities against intellectual property crimes are similarly multi-faceted. Intellectual Property (IP) has become one of the principal U.S. economic engines, and the nation is a target of choice for thieves of material protected by copyright, trademark, or trade-secret designation. In pursuing all these goals, CCIPS attorneys regularly run complex investigations, resolve unique legal and investigative issues raised by emerging computer and telecommunications technologies; litigate cases; provide litigation support to other prosecutors; train federal, state, and local law enforcement personnel; comment on and propose legislation; and initiate and participate in international efforts to combat computer and intellectual property crime.

Miniature horses for the blind
A non-profit charity dedicated to providing free guides for visually impaired individuals.

. . . an internationally accredited, nonprofit guide dog school with a 50-plus year legacy of providing the blind and visually impaired with superior Guiding Eyes dogs, training, and lifetime support services.
Our family of professionals, volunteers and donors are all committed to giving our students the gift of greater personal freedom, independence and dignity by providing them with the finest bred and trained guide dogs in the world.
The Seeing Eye,® Inc., is the oldest existing dog guide school in the world. Twelve times a year, as many as 24 students at a time visit the Morristown, N.J., campus to discover the exhilarating experience of traveling with a Seeing Eye dog.
Our students – people who are blind or visually impaired – come from all over the United States and Canada to spend up to a month training with a new Seeing Eye dog. They range in age from 16 to senior citizens, their home environments may be rural or urban, and they may be homemakers, volunteers, or judges. But they all have this in common: They are motivated by a sense of independence and armed with the knowledge that Seeing Eye dogs will provide an extra edge to attain success, however they may choose to define it.
We're immensely proud of the fact that so many people come to us from all across the United States and Canada. Many believe it's because we consistently have the best success rate. Others, because we have the most comprehensive services available in North America. Some think it's because all our services are free of charge.
The real reason is simpler than that. People come to us because we know that a guide dog/human team is about much more than "mobility."
We create a truly unique partnership between two beings. A collaboration that enhances the individual potential of each partner. Where the dog and the person have better lives together than either would have apart.
Our unique program is equal parts match-making, intensive training, and lifetime support. Students have access to instructors, counselors and veterinarians, a full-time nursing staff, a dedicated dormitory staff all of whom attend to students' needs in order to make their stay pleasant and enjoyable. Also, unique among guide dog schools, we offer follow-up services to each graduate of our program at their home or place of business for the lifetime of their guide dog partnership.
